Context Take-out pizza: a category absolutely stuffed with competitors. To stand out, I worked with Kuba & Friends to create a brand that could slice through the noise. Enter The Mean Tomato — created exclusively for Gopuff.
We took the old-school NYC pizzeria vibe and flipped it on its head, with a mascot that was anything but a throwback. No cheesy cheerleader, this tomato has a no-BS swagger that (despite his best efforts) worked so much harder for the brand: increasing sales by 98% and nearly doubling the size of Gopuff’s pizza business.
